Block n.23 for The Splendid Sampler™ is called “Hand in Hand”, by Kari Carr (New Leaf Stitches). This was a pretty easy block, but it included a fun surprise: how those triangles are built. They are actually folded and unfolded once stitched in place, so they add “dimension” to the final block. I must remind myself, though, that this block have some thick seams, and that this should be taken into account when quilting. I’ve started to think about how I’m going to quilt this sampler… once I have gathered myself I may write a dedicated post to this matter.
Anyway, this is a really beautiful block, with lots of possibilities when used in a major quilt. On Kari Carr’s post about it there are already some possible layouts. The pattern and link party, however, are here.
