The Splendid Sampler™: Block 58

2016_10_03

The 58th block of The Splendid Sampler is called “Homeward Bound, by Kelly Liddle (Jeli Quilts). I loved this one! I’m not a fan of paper piecing (mostly, because of the fabric waste involved in the process), but this kind of design really attracts my attention. The pillow case featured in Kelly Liddle’s blog is going to my to-do-someday list.

Being a little bit late, the link party, pattern and other information are here.

  1. Another lovely block Ariadna! I like the look of this block too…. I am encouraged that you didn’t find the paper piecing too difficult…. it is not one of my favourite techniques! Christine x

    • I’m sure you will find this one easier than most of the paper-pieced blocks so far. The cutting instructions are very generous (I think you can reduce them by almost a 1/2″!) and the fact that there are no seams between paper-pieced parts really makes a difference. This month I have the feeling I have done lots of paper-piecing, so perhaps it’s just that I’m getting the hang of it!
